Over 100 killed  hundreds injured in airstrikes by Sudanese army on South Darfur

At least 100 people have been killed and hundreds others injured when the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) launched airstrike on Kabkabia marketplace, South Darfur.

More than 100 people have been killed and hundreds injured when the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) launched airstrike against Kabkabia marketplace, South Darfur.

According to the Emergency Lawyers group the strike was carried out on Tuesday, the weekly market day where people come from various villages for shopping.

In a separate incident, a drone, which had fallen in North Kordofan State on November 26, exploded on Monday killing 6 people and seriously injuring 3 others, the group said.

SAF’s arbitrary airstrikes continued in Nyala, capital of South Darfur, where residential areas were targeted with barrel bombs.

Coordination of the Displaced People and Refugees condemned the attack on Kabkabia market stressing that the attack was but a part of a systematic campaign aiming at annihilation of members of specific community group.

The Coordination called on the international community to adopt a firm stance in regard to the crimes committed by both warring parties, imposing a ban on military flights and activation of the international resolutions on protection of civilians.

Since outbreak of the conflict between the SAF and paramilitary RSF in April 2023, thousands of Sudanese civilians have been killed and thousands others injured as a result of indiscriminate attacks by both parties.
